Hi,
We have started using C1121-8PLTEP in our branches.
Today needed to use the PoE for the first time. Cannot get power on any of the 8 ports.
This looks ominous:
sh power
Main PSU :
Configured Mode : N/A
Current runtime state same : N/A
PowerSupplySource : External PS
POE Module :
Configured Mode : N/A
Current runtime state same : N/A
Total power available : 0 Watts
sh ver
Cisco IOS XE Software, Version 17.03.03
Cisco IOS Software [Amsterdam], ISR Software (ARMV8EL_LINUX_IOSD-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 17.3.3, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc7)
I suspect there is something required to enable it. But cannot find where/how.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance
Peter

So, it seems it is an option. Great Data Sheet Cisco. In the "Product Specifications" table, no mention of the optional module.
And we missed it at the top of the doc: Platform architecture and capabilities.
Going to be an interesting conversation.
Thank You Leo for pointing out our stupidly obvious error.
Cheers

Post the complete output to the command "sh inventory".

Did someone removed the PoE Daughterboard from the router?

Thanks for the reply Leo. I am really hoping it is not an optional extra that simply wasn't purchased. Certainly nobody has removed it.
I will re-investigate the BoM.
Thanks

The router has a product ID of "-8P". That means PoE.
The power supply is already the four-prong PoE-capable.
The only thing I can think of is:

We had a similar experience with our Cisco 1121s. I have had 2 Sites have issues with POE on these models. Turns out, Swapping the power brick in the back fixed it. They come with a big power brick and that usually is the culprit. When doing a show power command, It would show 0 Watts available. After the power brick swap, it would have watts available. I guess they burn out or something, or maybe we are just unlucky. Hope this helps.
