Which model is this. The switch should be POE enable.Paste the " show version" from the switch and let us check the model number of the switch.

It should give POE bydefault, if its POE enabled. Other wise you can go to interface config and set it up using " power inline auto" command under the interface. It should work for you.

Hi Friend,

If your 3560 is POE capable you need not do any special configuration and it will by default provide power to the device.

Cisco Catalyst 3560-24PS

24 Ethernet 10/100 ports with Power over Ethernet (PoE) and 2 SFP ports

Cisco Catalyst 3560-48PS

48 Ethernet 10/100 ports with PoE and 4 SFP ports

Cisco Catalyst 3560G-24PS

24 Ethernet 10/100/1000 ports with PoE and 4 SFP ports

Cisco Catalyst 3560G-48PS

48 Ethernet 10/100/1000 ports with PoE and 4 SFP ports

These 4 switches which has "PS" at the end of model name provides inline power.

To check some POE related configuration on switchports have a look at this link

Hi Friend,

Check the model number in the "sh version" output you pasted and it says "WS-C3560-24TS" which is not a POE switch.

The POE switch model is like "WS-C3560-24PS-S" and the POE switch model ends with "PS"

You can check the different 3560 models in this link

hmm but why whould it say poe on the switch, and have the button on the side that scrolls through and lights up the poe option?

Hi Friend,

Nor sure but may be the chassis which is made is quite similar for all the models and based on the integrated hardware it provides the POE.

Check this link and the model which you have does not mentions about POE.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps5528/products_data_sheet09186a00801f3d7f.html

The model which supports POE is been mentioned in the chart.
