Policing -Shaping on SIP-400 interface cisco 6500

Hi all,

I've a cisco 6506 IOS SRD with a SIP-400 4GE module.

I've configured one giga interface in L3 trunk with different logical IP sub-interface: on sub-interface I've configured Hierarchical-Policy (shaping + CBWFQ/LLQ).

Now I need to limit the troughput of the entire giga interface to 500M: can I apply policing in/out on phisical interface in conjunction with Hierarchical-Policy on sub-if? If no, are there other solution?

Unfortunatly I can't access to the catalyst to test it...and on the datasheet I can't find an answer.

Hi,

This isn't supported on the SIP-400 - you can't apply service-policy on both the sub-intfs and main intf. It has to be one or the other.
