I just bought some used lab equipment: 3 2811's, 2 2950's, and 1 3550.
Strange thing is that right after this online purchase, I have had multiple credit card charge attempts for several thousand dollars. The credit card company immediately blocked it all and closed the account for me. I'm not sure it's from the vendor that sold me the equipment, but what a coincidence....
Anyway, I'm worried now that if it was this company messing with my credit card, what else are they capable of doing? Is it possible that the equipment I received could have viruses pre-installed in the IOS? On the flash cards? It came with a DVD-R with back up of the IOS as well. What can I do to make sure this equipment is safe to use?

Highly unlikely.
2950 doesn't support EEM and TCL script. Not sure about 3550. I wouldn't trust the contents in the DVD but be sure to clean out the config and VLAN.DAT before plugging any network ports up.
