priority ip phone on switch acces port.

hello. i have seen switch catalyst documention regarding ip phone. does ip phone frame has priority tagging? what is it? 802.1p? how framing looks like? if ip phone has then how to create priority for computer(windows XP) then i can priority some computer.. hmm.. will priority remain accross another switches? or will go across router? thank you very much for helping.

A cisco VoIP phone is capable of setting the Precendence bits (COS) in its packets

Actually it sets the DSCP to EF and Cos to 5. The switch overrides these settings by default. You should configure your switch ports to trust the settings sent by the phone

to prioritise traffic for a particular PC, you can configure a Class/ mark the packets sent by the machine and set priority explictly
