Hi there

I have just set up an 2 port etherchannel  between my 3548XL and my 2960G, it all loks good but when I do a shut on int gi0/2 on the 3548XL the link goes down completly, should it not failover to the remaning link?  Here is my config:-

3548XL

interface GigabitEthernet0/1

port group 1

switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

switchport mode trunk

!

interface GigabitEthernet0/2

port group 1

switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

switchport mode trunk

2960G

interface Port-channel1

switchport mode trunk

!

interface GigabitEthernet0/6

switchport mode trunk

channel-group 1 mode on

interface GigabitEthernet0/10

switchport mode trunk

channel-group 1 mode on

Thanks for any help

Working with 3500XL series can get a little tricky when it comes to etherchannels.  Make sure you:

!--- First, shut down the secondary ports involved in the channel
!--- and then enable them back when the configuration is complete on both switches.
See:

Yup tried that after doing the config, no change.

none of these ports are in a monitoring (SPAN) session, correct?

No?
