Hello Tom,
In order for the module WS-X4548-RJ45V+ to be supported in your 4500 you will need Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(50)SG or later (you are in 12.2(46)SG).
(WS-X4548-RJ45V+ part).
Best regards.

Hello Ivan,
If you are speaking about the WS-X4548-RJ45V+ module then yes it is totally compatible as per the below link :
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/switches/ps5718/ps4324/product_bulletin_c25-530557.html
The line card is compatible with all Cisco Catalyst 4500 Series chassis, and you can deploy it with any supervisor engine, helping ensure maximum investment protection.
Just be sure that the you are fine with the minimum supported IOS (12.2(50)SG) and the adequate power supplies on the chassis to support all the powered devices that you plan to use.
Best regards.

This line card will work with a SUPIV although the documentation omits the SUPIV in the supported SUPs listing.
