Protecting a switch port from Mains AC

An electrician blew-up one of the Industrial Ethernet Access Switches (IE-1000-8P2S), by dropping a live wire onto the back of an industrial site patch panel, causing sparks and a power trip-out.

I know there are MOV-based devices to protect from lightning surges, I do not believe that they can protect from sustained Mains AC.

Is there an isolation device or a switch that has port protection from Mains AC voltages, so that failures like this do not occur?

every switch has an built-in isolation-transformer at the RJ-45 input for each twisted-pair

but you mean something like this: 2313915 Phoenix Contact - Network isolator - FL ISOLATOR 1000-RJ/RJ (wiautomation.com)
