Im sorry but i think my question itself was not framed properly i was not talking about general VLAN.
I wanted to enquire about Protocol-based VLAN !!
Protocol-based VLANs divide the physical network into logical VLAN groups for each protocol. When a frame is received at a port, its VLAN membership can then be determined based on the protocol type.
Ericsson switches support IP, ARP and RARP protocols.
I want to try the same with Cisco switches if there is any switch pls let me know and do let know the configuration required to setup protocol-based vlan in the switch.

Cisco SGE2000 24-Port Gigabit Switch is one switch that supports protocol-based VLAN.
