Proxy arp removal

We are going to migrate off of a 6513 and onto the Nexus 7000 platform. By default, the 6513 had proxy arp enabled. We do not want to enable proxy arp on the Nexus 7K. We know that proxy arp is currently covering up many mis-configurations on the network. Taking away this "crutch" will cause multiple calls to the help desk.

Is there any way to determine which clients are having their arp requests proxied by the 6513?

We have used show ip int vlan1 and show ip traffic to verify that proxy arp is enabled and the proxy arp entries are increasing.

If we can't determine exact clients having arp requests proxied, is there a way to look at proxy arp requests by vlan? Knowing the volume by vlan may allow us to disable proxy arp on some of the vlans. That way we could work through the problem one vlan at a time.

Thanks for your help.

It is perhaps a bit awkward and requires manual effort, but the solution that occurs to me is to run debug arp on the 6513 and to examine the debug output to find the sources that are requesting arp for destinations that are outside the local environment.
