Can someone point me to a guide that outlines all of the QOS settings that should be configured on a 6500 running IOS on a SUP720? The SRND guide only has CATOS commands for this switch.

It is really depend on your QoS design. Here are the SRND's on the design and possible commands

OK from looking at the SRND guides the only configuration I need is below:
Global:
mls qos
mls qos map cos-dscp 0 10 18 24 34 46 48 56
show interfaces gigabitEthernet 9/1 capabilities
QOS scheduling: rx-(1q8t), tx-(1p3q8t)
wrr-queue queue-limit 5 25 40
wrr-queue bandwidth 5 25 70
wrr-queue random-detect 1
wrr-queue random-detect 2
wrr-queue random-detect 3
wrr-queue random-detect min-threshold 1 80 100 100 100 100 100 100 100
wrr-queue random-detect max-threshold 1 100 100 100 100 100 100 100 100
wrr-queue random-detect min-threshold 2 100 100 100 100 100 100 100
wrr-queue random-detect max-threshold 2 100 100 100 100 100 100 100 100
wrr-queue random-detect min-threshold 3 50 60 70 80 90 100 100 100
wrr-queue random-detect max-threshold 3 60 70 80 90 100 100 100 100
wrr-queue cos-map 1 1 1
wrr-queue cos-map 2 1 0
wrr-queue cos-map 3 1 4
wrr-queue cos-map 3 2 2
wrr-queue cos-map 3 3 3
wrr-queue cos-map 3 4 6
wrr-queue cos-map 3 5 7
priority-queue cos-map 1 5
mls qos trust DSCP
or mls qos trust cos if connected to an IPphone
Now my next question is does this look correct? There is alot less global configuration involved than the configuration on a 3560 but from what I can tell this is all that is needed.
Also if I look at an interface that has auto QOS configured I get the below output. Why is the auto QOS diffrent than the SRND? Which one should I use? I am not intersted in policing at this point. Only marking and queuing.
Global:
mls qos
mls qos map cos-dscp 0 10 18 24 34 46 48 56
show interfaces gigabitEthernet 9/1 capabilities
QOS scheduling: rx-(1q8t), tx-(1p3q8t)
Interface with IP phone:
Interface Gigabitethernet 9/1
wrr-queue bandwidth 20 100 200
priority-queue queue-limit 5
wrr-queue queue-limit 65 15 15
wrr-queue random-detect min-threshold 1 70 100 100 100 100 100 100 100
wrr-queue random-detect min-threshold 2 70 100 100 100 100 100 100 100
wrr-queue random-detect min-threshold 3 40 40 50 50 60 60 70 70
wrr-queue random-detect max-threshold 1 100 100 100 100 100 100 100 100
wrr-queue random-detect max-threshold 2 100 100 100 100 100 100 100 100
wrr-queue random-detect max-threshold 3 70 70 80 80 90 90 100 100
wrr-queue cos-map 2 1 1 2
wrr-queue cos-map 3 5 3 4
wrr-queue cos-map 3 7 6 7
rcv-queue cos-map 1 2 1
rcv-queue cos-map 1 3 2
rcv-queue cos-map 1 4 3
rcv-queue cos-map 1 5 4
rcv-queue cos-map 1 6 5
rcv-queue cos-map 1 7 6
rcv-queue cos-map 1 8 7
mls qos trust cos
auto qos voip trust

In the SRND 4.0, there is a statement to describe what is the difference between AutoQoS and the what the SRND suggested.
"Some may naturally ask, why should I read this lengthy and complex QoS design document when I have AutoQoS? AutoQoS-VoIP is an excellent tool for customers who want to enable QoS for VoIP (only), that have basic QoS needs, or do not have the time or desire to do more with QoS.
However, it is important to remember how AutoQoS developed. AutoQoS features are the result of Cisco QoS feature development coupled with Cisco QoS design guides based on large-scale lab testing. AutoQoS-VoIP is the product of the first QoS design guide (published in 1999) and the AutoQoS-VoIP feature has not been significantly updated since. Therefore, if the business requirement for QoS is for IP Telephony only, then AutoQoS would be an excellent tool to expedite the QoS deployment. If, on the other hand, there are more advanced requirements of QoS—such as those presented in this document—then the configurations presented herein would be recommended over AutoQoS."
In your configuration, you are only doing queueing, there isn't any marking in the configuration. Where you will rely on the connected devices to mark the traffic (from the trust DSCP and trust COS command).

My copy and paste skillz failed me on the post. This is my proposed configuration. As you can see I am am marking the traffic.
Global:
mls qos
mls qos map cos-dscp 0 10 18 24 34 46 48 56
show interfaces gigabitEthernet 9/1 capabilities
QOS scheduling: rx-(1q8t), tx-(1p3q8t)
wrr-queue queue-limit 5 25 40
wrr-queue bandwidth 5 25 70
wrr-queue random-detect 1
wrr-queue random-detect 2
wrr-queue random-detect 3
wrr-queue random-detect min-threshold 1 80 100 100 100 100 100 100 100
wrr-queue random-detect max-threshold 1 100 100 100 100 100 100 100 100
wrr-queue random-detect min-threshold 2 100 100 100 100 100 100 100
wrr-queue random-detect max-threshold 2 100 100 100 100 100 100 100 100
wrr-queue random-detect min-threshold 3 50 60 70 80 90 100 100 100

wrr-queue cos-map 3 1 4
wrr-queue cos-map 3 2 2
wrr-queue cos-map 3 3 3
wrr-queue cos-map 3 4 6

mls qos trust DSCP
or mls qos trust cos if connected to an IPPhone.

Hi Bill,
The following commands not not marking any packets:
mls qos map cos-dscp 0 10 18 24 34 46 48 56 - this is just a COS-DSCP mapping.
mls qos trust DSCP - this command tells the switch to trust the dscp value set by the remote device. This is pretty dangerous because any PC can send EF packets to get strict priority which will affecting your PQ for voice.
