qos priority queue on cat 6509

Hi all

I need to trust and prioritize voip traffic on my 6509 core

at the moment I have mls qos trust dscp on the interface

Is this enough? or do I need to enable the priority queue? how do i do this ? as it doesnt accept the priority queue out command like a normal switch

Hi,

If you just want to trust the voice traffic on your uplinks, then "mls qos trust dscp" is the command to use.  If you have heavy traffic and congestion on the interface and you need to prioritize voice traffic, then you want priority queue, if not then no need for it.

Also, remeber queuing and priority configd can very based on the sup and the module you are using.
