QoS - Sub Interface

I have a question, which is perhaps trivial.
I have a router with sub-interfaces and I need to apply a QoS service-policy for a certain sub-interface.

If I apply the policy in the physical interface, does it match the traffic of all sub-interfaces?

I recall (?) policy on main interface matches all traffic crossing the interface.  Further, I recall (?), subinterface policy only matches subinterface's traffic.
