Qos

Hi All,

I am observing high latency while pinging my core Mgmt. ip from the Jump server.

Jump server located in Mumbai and core is in Haryana.

I have Qos policy available in the Core device and i can see some drop in that.

FYI.

sh policy-map control-plane | s system-cpp-police-sys-data
Class-map: system-cpp-police-sys-data (match-any)
0 packets, 0 bytes
5 minute offered rate 0000 bps, drop rate 3000 bps
Match: none
police:
rate 250 pps, burst 61 packets
conformed 12351270949 bytes; actions:
transmit
exceeded 9778916 bytes; actions:
drop

Except this core all other device mgmt ip in same location is reachable with out any latency.

Please some once confirm if this qos policy drop will cause device mgmt IP reachability/latency issue.

From that policy, if in impact your pings, I would expect you to see ping responses missing, rather than increase latency.

For latency, I would be more suspicious on what the connectivity is between Mumbai and Haryana; especially if its some form of WAN cloud technology.

PS:

Oops, just re-read your OP and you note it's only this one device?

If so, only pings to it impacted?
