Question about 6500 and WS-X6748-GE-TX

Hi,

We currently have a 6500 running Hybrid CatOS/IOS.  We are thinking about purchasing a WS-X6748-GE-TX we are running CatOS version 8.1(3) and IOS 12.2(17d)SXB8.  I have seen on some Cisco pages that CatOS 8.1(3) can support this module and on one page that only 8.2(1) and up can support this module.  Has anyone had any experience with the 8.1(3) version of CatOS?

  Your version will support  that card , requires a minimum  8.1.2  to run on catos.  Just  search on  release notes for catos 8.X.

Note: This module is supported only on the  Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series Supervisor Engine 720 running Cisco Catalyst  OS Version 8.1.2 or Cisco IOS® Software Release 12.2(17a)SX (available in the next few months) and  future software releases.
