Questions about Cisco nexus 5596 or 5548

Hello Everyone,

I want to buy a nexus 5596 or 5548 but before i want some clarifications.

Does nexus 5596 or 5548 need the L3 module to do routing or the module is for improvement in L3?

What i read so far is that you can do L3 on those nexus swithes but limited, in case you want full L3 like BGP you need to buy the Enterprise license.

Can someone clarify how the nexus L3 with BGP works? What i need to buy? Do I need the switch and the enterprise license or I have to buy the module separete too?

Please let me know.

Hey

The l3 license is included in the l3 module when you but it but you need to speciy which basic or enterprise, without it its only an l2 switch, if you buy it with basic license i think its limited to few hundred routes but with enterprise its thousands , think about 8000 in enterprise
