"Authentication failed" for AP

All,

One of my APs said "Authentication failed" but all is good on the AP side. Do you know why this is happening? Also, my other AP was failing too (different message) but now is all good. Anyone? Suggestions will be greatly appreciate it.

Hi,
I suppose that you have failed authentication AP to WLC.
what is your current setup in WLC? (Security tab --> AP Policies)
Also which exact model of AP ? (for example 1242 ???)

This series are old and MIC certificate can be expired. Try upgrade WLC to image 8.0.121.0 and in console type command:
config ap cert-expiry-ignore mic enable

On Security tab --> AP Policies try following

Try first three check boxes tick
and 4th and 5th checkbox untick.

Also you can add AP base MAC address to AP authorization list (choose MIC certificate)
