I have an ASA that is redistributing routes from VPN connected sites using RRI. On my internal routers they show up as EIGRP External, which takes away a lot of flexibility that I have with internal EIGRP routes like changing the AD on them (distance commands in eigrp config don't affect Ex routes) How do I make the ASA redistribute these as internal routes?

I think the options with an ASA will be limited.
Is there just one ASA? Could you turn off RRI, and just use static routes on your routers/switches?
Another extreme option. Redistribute the ASA routes into another router protocol on the ASA, like RIPv2, and then perhaps try redistributing that into EIGRP. I think that might give you some more options.

Just one ASA yeah. Unfortunately static routes aren't an option as I need the VPN routes to take precedence over other routes only when the VPN is up and actually with RRI the routes are static, RRI just creates the static route then I redistribute that but it shows up external and I don't see an option to change that.
