Hi Foster,

On a 6500 EOBC is a bus, located on the chassis and every line card has a connection to this bus.

Troubleshooting errors with EOBC can sometimes be challenging as we cannot isolate which line card is causing EOBC problems.

Coming to your comment of having dual channels - can you please elaborate ?

When you look at Nexus 7000 - EOBC there is a full duplex one to one connection between the line card and the supervisor. So if there is a problem with one module jamming EOBC - it will not effect other modules.

Would the same be done on 6500 ? - I do not think so. EOBC will continue to be a shared bus on a 6500.

Thanks for your mentions,  Rahul

Is there a way to failover on EOBC channel failure?

all I want to konw whether the EOBC channel is support dual channel(full duplex) or not on the Catalyst 6500

best regards

Foster

Hi Foster,

please don't start 2 threads on the same topic.

On the other one you got the answer already\;

EOBC dual-channel is not not available on Cat6500.

Riccardo

HI Riccardo

thanks and It's okay to ignore the other topic(it's my mistake)

if so the Nexus 7000 is only support dual EOBC channel(or full duplex)?
