we currently have 1 stack of 3 - C2960X's .
I would like to replace Switch #2 with another C2960x .
How difficult is this to do? (firmware is identical on all 4)
What are the high level steps required?
Thanks,

Turn off the Stack member you looking to replace. remove the stack cables behind.
Make sure new switch member has same IOS code, and change the switch number and priority of the switch.
remove old switch from rack, place the new switch in rack, connect stack cables behind, power up the new stack memember
Either use console or login to master switch, Monitor the Logs.
show switch ( show you once the new member joined stack, or any error)
show logg give you logs

change switch # on my replacement switch? What priority should i use?
The switch I'm putting in has existing config on it . Do i need to wipe it first?
Here for example
switch 1 provision ws-c2960x-24pd-l
switch 2 provision ws-c2960x-24ps-l
switch 3 provision ws-c2960x-24pd-l
switch 4 provision ws-c2960x-24ps-l
switch 5 provision ws-c2960x-24ps-l
!
I believe switch #1 will be master.

if you do show switch, it will show what priority, so you need to configure offline before you add to stack.
switch do not require any config, just the same IOS code, switch number, and priority and write config and add to exiting switch stack.
