Replacing failed sup-engine on 6506E / 7606-S with dual sup-engines

Hi, is the procedure for replacing failed sup engine on the 6506-E with dual sup-engines on the 7606-S the same ?

If one of the dual sup were to have hardware failure, could I put in one with a different IOS and empty configuration files to them and everything could synchronize by itself ?  or do I need to do any steps/enter any commands manually ?

and how do i do a switch over so that the replace sup could took back its original role as the active sup ?

Make sure the replacement Supervisor card is running the same IOS as the active supervisor card.
Also check the config-registry value is 0x2102.
