Restore Safe start and running config

Hi I have a 877W router.

I have a copy of my IOS, running config and my startup-config in a safe place which I really want to put back. The router will boot but my problem is I can no longer talk to the router via IP but I can through the console via Hyperterminal. Can someone talk me through how to transfer my safe files across to the router and replace the existing ones. (I'm still learning my CCNA).

Not sure what are the exact steps but look up xmodem transfers. It's basically ftp-like using hyperterminal. Warning thought, its extremely slow transfering files.
