ROMMON mode

Hi dear all

what we mean by the ROMMON mode in cisco switch ????? and i can install the OIS image through it ???????

Hello,

ROMMON mode in switches is pretty much similar to the one on the router. It is a mode where you could try to recover the switch. The ROMMON mode is also useful when you need to recover the password on the switch. However, unlike the router, switch does not support TFTP image transfer in ROMMON mode. You need to go for XMODEM based transfer (through the console port). You can follow the procedure posted by leolaohoo.
