Is the com port enabled?
on your PC or laptop try this: start, devices and printer, and scroll down to see what com port the console is using.
What baud rate are you using? If it is 9600 try 38400 and test again.

Hi Ali,
1- Do not configure any ip address on your laptop.
2- Connect the console cable to the switch and other end to your laptop.
3- Configure your terminal or PC terminal emulation software for 9600 baud, 8 data bits, no parity, and 2 stop bits.
Select the right port and try the following:
Bits per sec : 9600
Data bits : 8
Parity : none
Stop bits : 1
Flow control : none
2-
If You have already tried basic TS, but you dont happen to see anything on the console after reseating the device.
Try this once;

3- If nothing works as stated above then go ahead and create the RMA and get the device replaced.
