router Configuration

Dear All,

I just received a 1751 v router with WIC 2T installed in slot 1 and with th following vesion and flash:

[ROM: System Bootstrap, Version 12.2(1r)XE1, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

ROM: C1700 Software (C1700-BK8NO3R2SV3Y7-M), Version 12.2(8)T5,  RELEASE SOFTWAR

E (fc1)

System flash directory:

File  Length   Name/status

  1   10679668  c1700-bk8no3r2sv3y7-mz.122-8.T5.bin]

I tried to configure serial subinterface via point-to-point using the following cmd : Router(config)#int s1/0.1 point-to-point and that does not applied, (this cmd is needed for frame relay DLCI configuration) .

Should i reload another ios image? Please advice.

Hi Hisahm,

What encapsulation do you have in the serial interface? Do you tried to change the encapsulation under serial interface, not subinterface.

Hi,

LIke Mauricio told you you must have the encap frame command on the physical interface before configuring a Frame-Relay subinterface because the default encapsulation for a serial is HDLC.
