Hallo

I've a RV120W Cisco ROUTER with last firmware released and I am not able to setup Wake On Lan:

It works fine just switched off PC but after some minute (5/10) magic packet don't work. Router forgets address of PC ?

I've set-up Static DHCP with IP and MAC address of PC

I've setup port forwarding in firewall menu

This setup is OK becuse for few minutes WoL works... but after some time it stops.

There is any setting to make RV120W managing WoL properly.

Thanks

Ciano

Cadet it correct....

The ARP entry for the specific PC gets released after a few minutes ....

So the only solution is to add a static ARP entry...

Unfortunately these small business routers don't have that option..

So there is no way.. unless you flash a different firmware (non-Cisco).

It's just the way the router maps interfaces together....

I remember with older linksys routers this was possible with only port forwarding ...however this isn't the case with the RV120W..

Hi,

you need to configure a static ARP entry on the router for the MAC-IP of the device you want to wake.

Hi Cadet,

thanks for reply.

Is it possible to create a ARP list on my RV120W ? I've not found any ARP menu.

Or is it possible a "broadcast" port forward to all LAN pc instead of a single PC ? (MAC in magic packet will match right one)

Thanks

Ciano
