Scenarios for Static MACs

Hi All,

Can someone please let me know in what type of scenraios, we might require to configure a static MAC in the realworld ?

The only scenario i have come across  is for MS NLB.

In some older switches we had to do. I beleive in new devices we just enable the IGMP snooping in the specific vlan at L2 and we are good  to go without static MAC entry.

Certain implementations of NLB is the only time I have used Static MAC address entries.

Its best practice to let the CAM table populate itself, that way it can dynamically react to changes.
