Hello, I'm needing to find out about the pieces that seem to make up a switch name or version. Using the 3560 series as an example, why do some have WS before the 3560, as in WS-3560, why is there sometimes a C before the 3560, other times not. Why the -PS or -TS after the number of ports ? For example WS-3560G-48PS. Is there some kind of a guide or list that sorts all of this out?

I believe WS stands for Workgroup Switch and the C stands for Catalyst.
A 'P' in the Model name tends to indicate its a PoE switch.
