secondary IP add in HSRP

Hi Experts,

need your opinion. Which one is better.

a. having 3 VLAN with 3 subnets, then routing is done via interface VLAN each

or....

b. having 1 vlan with 3 subnets, then routing is done via ONE interface VLAN while other 2 subnets routed using secondary ip address of the first interface VLAN

any response, gladly appreciated..

The first option is better. On the second option , you have one broadcast domain with 3 different IP subnets.

Broadcast traffic will increase as you will have up to 762 hosts (based on /24 on each subnet).

Again, option one gives you a much better network.
