securing dsl router access

Hi all, I am configuring ssh on my dsl router so only certain people can connect, should I restrict the access list to certain source addresses from the internet? Is this normal practice?

Use Access-lists to restrict the SSH access to specific IP address only.

Also, use the SSH version 2,

change the ssh port to something else other than the default (22) and

keep the ssh session timeout to a lower value.
