Hello all

I have a funny situation, I send a ping reply to a server and get 2 responses back, I also get source quench messages from the server.

Any ideas what this could be ?

cheers

Hi Carl

Source-quench means that the server, when answering the ping, indicates that it is busy.

That's probably why the server is not replying on every ping.

Hi Carl,

If the device which sends 2 replies is always the same one and it always sends a standard reply and a source quench reply it might be a normal behavior for that device when it is busy. You might want to check why it is busy.  In any case I guess this is something you should check with the server vendor to see how the tcp/ip stack has been implemented to see if this is the expected behavior.

I would not be too worried anyway.
