Server connected to a switch port is a Access or Trunk port?Will switch port receive BPDU from server?

Hi,

     I need to connect a server with a switch port?

What should I configure for that port?which one is better to configure in switch port  Access port or trunk port ?

If I connected server port with switch access port will my switch port receive BPDU on that switch port interface?

Advise would be helpful.

hi

if its using multiple vlans it needs to be trunk if only 1 vlan it can be an access port

Only switches send bpdus not servers

 switchport
 switchport trunk allowed vlan 1x,x,xx
 switchport mode trunk

Now i changed my reply after re-reading the case again, so sorry for old reply. but i still have question regarding this point, Is it correct to connect servers to trunk ports?.. and if it's yes.  this will forward any vlan broadcast to the server, which's will consume its resources. please help me about that information, because i heard from someone saying it's recommended to connect any servers to trunk ports not access ports.
