Server with single NIC connected to Dual-Homed Fex

Hi Everyone,

I have a doubt in configuring a port in N5Ks.

Here is the scenario.

A server with single NIC is connected to Dual homed FEX in N5Ks.

How to configure the server connected port? I understand the configuration should be same in both the N5Ks as it is dual homed. But my doubt is, do we need to configure the server connected port as port-channel with vpc or individual interface in both the N5Ks.

Please help me to understand this doubt.

Hi,

Since the server has a single NIC and is therefore connected to a single FEX, there is no need for Portchannel but since the FEXs are dual-homed, you need to configure the same (single port) on both N5Ks.
