SF300-48PP No POE working for Ubiquiti Cameras

I have a new setup of a SF300-48PP switch and 15 Ubiquiti Video dome cameras. When directly connected there is no power to any camera. When an POE injector is used there is a connection and data is passed. Looking at the logs it does not show that the units are not detected at all. Changed the power settings at the port level with no success. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

do the cameras support the 802.3af poe ? do you have another device to check if its the switch or just an issue with theses specific cameras? If its not working with other devices either may be a firmware issue but if it is, it could be a poe type negotiation issue between the sf and the cameras

Thanks for responding with information. I did the sanity check and plugged one of the customer's Avaya IP phones into the switch and it powered up with no problem. I then used the same cable and plugged in a camera that had not been installed yet and got no response. I did make a change so that the max it would supply to the cam is 4W/4000mW.

The Ubiquiti Dome Camera uses 24v DC which is not compatible with standard PoE supplied by Cisco switches.

You will need to either:

A) Upgrade the the Pro Cam which seems to use 48v and should work with the Cisco switches
B) Use a Ubiquiti Edge Switch as they support 24v PoE
C) Use a power injector

I really don't think that changing any settings on the switch is going to power those cameras.

Well there you go... The units come with injectors so it's off to get power strips to plug into the UPS and a bunch of Ethernet cables. Thanks for the help on this.

I have had issues with Ubiquiti stuff and Cisco PoE before.

Some of the Ubiquiti equipment does not support 802.3af, they use 24V Passive PoE instead.

Edit - The Data Sheet HERE shows the Dome version uses 24V power, only the Pro camera uses 48V so you may need to look at one of the Ubiquiti edge switches which provide 24v via PoE.

Thanks for the links of information. I check this type which is a video dome and it has passive power needs between 12V and 24V, with a max watt of 4W. I modified the switch ports to put out no more than 4000mWv(4W) but still no draw. The customer's Avaya phones seem to function fine when plugged in without their injectors.
