Dears,

I have a Fortinet firewall which is having 10G-SR SFP, I want to connect from these Fortinet SFP to cisco switch, can I propose cisco  cheap SFP   sfp-10G-SR-S, so on Fortinet side it will be 10G-SR SFP and on cisco side it will be sfp-10G-SR-S

does it will work, the link will come up between them,

Yes, that will work. The main difference is that sfp-10G-SR-S does not support FCoE:

Hope this helps,

Dear

my question can you route me to any cisco doc that mentioned that 10G-SR and 10GSR-S can connect to each other.

thanks

If you read through this doc:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/interfaces-modules/transceiver-modules/data_sheet_c78-455693.html

You will see that they are both 10GBASE-SR modules. The is the standard definition of how they communicate. I have certainly not seen any issues connecting SR to SR-S (mainly Cisco to Arista). Having said that, I have not had a requirement for FCoE, which seems to be the main differentiater.

I hope this helps.
