Hello Yasir,

you are not providing so greater details.

You have C4500 in the core with 10G links between them and with "distribution" C3700 switches.

Here comes the problem.

These two "distribution " switches should have SFP ports as normal ports and also an uplink module that hosts SFP+ to connect to the C4500.

If I remember correctly you can have SFP or SFP+ in the uplink modules of C3750-X but all ports must be the same type. You cannot mix.

Again, without the exact models it is difficult to say more.

I have supposed that your C3700 are C3750-X that have uplink module.

I have supposed that C4500 are modern C4500-X.

Let us know what are the exact models, because it makes a lot of difference.

More consistent it depends from the type of uplink module you buy:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/switches/catalyst-3750-x-series-switches/data_sheet_c78-584733.html?cachemode=refresh

The uplink modules are spare part you buy them separately.

24 and 48 10/100/1000 PoE+, non-PoE models, and 12 and 24 GE SFP port models

The two devices that join the 1G ring with the 10G links upstream should be models with 12 or 24 GE SFP ports and have in addition the C3KX-NM-10G uplink module.

All the devices in the ring 1G can have the uplink module C3KX-NM-1G with 4 SFP ports each.

Hope to help

Giuseppe

Hello Mohdyasir,

what is the platform where you would like to use the SFP instead of SFP+?

Some switches have uplink modules with dual mode slots that can host SFP or SFP+, with some configuration command.

Without knowing any detail is not possibile to say anything.

Hope to help

Giuseppe

Dear Giuseppe Larosa

See this is my envirnment i want entire backbone on fiber using ring topology

please find attachement topology diagram

Are those 3750X switches? If so then you can use SFP modules as long as you have the network module.

Are you planning to use 3750X switches to connect to the 4500? If all those connections are fiber then you will have an issue. While you can get a network module that has four SFP/SFP+ ports, two of which can be used as SFP+ for 10G connectivity, this leaves you with only two ports. By my count you have six connections so you will be short two ports.

I suppose you could always use a media converter for those two fiber connections and utilize copper ports on the switch.

yes friend that was main problem as per client requirment that y  i replace 3750 12sfp two upstream switch which will be connect with 4500 and remender will be same 3750x 2410/100/1000 PoE+
