Hi Team ,

I have a CISCO7609 running with "c7600s72033-advipservicesk9-mz.122-33.SRE8.bin"

Ios where i am getting below error on the SFP port once inserting the Transceiver on that port.

%SMC-DFC9-2-BAD_ID_HW: Failed Identification Test in 0/0/9 [1/0]

The module in 0/0/9 in this router may not be a genuine
Cisco product. Cisco warranties and support programs only
apply to genuine Cisco products. If Cisco determines that
your insertion of non-Cisco memory, WIC cards, AIM cards,
Network Modules, SPA cards, GBICs or other modules into a
Cisco product is the cause of a support issue, Cisco may
deny support under your warranty or under a Cisco support
program such as SmartNet.

Nov 25 23:36:52: %CONST_DIAG-SP-3-BOOTUP_TEST_FAIL: Module 9: TestTransceiverIntegrity failed on port(s) 10
Nov 25 23:36:52: %PM_SCP-SP-3-TRANSCEIVER_UNSUPPORTED: Unsupported transceiver in LAN port 9/10

Please suggest on the above.

Cisco transceiver? If so, it appears to be bad.

Not a Cisco transceiver? If so, do you have "service unsupported-transceiver" configured?

Hi joseph ,

We are trying to insert Cisco Transceiver only where we are getting the above errors.

Please suggest how to resolve the issue.

Error message sounds like a faulty SFP module.

Is it faulty in module or transceiver .Also whether we can use different models of cisco  SFP Transceiver in same module (Eg ..Mix of SFP-GE-S  and glc-sx-mm Transceiver)

Hold on ... Exactly, what model of SFP is being used that's generating this error message?

hi ,Leo,

We are using 76-ES+XC-20G3C line card on slot 9 where we are inserting " glc-sx-mm" transceiver in GigabitEthernet9/10 and all other ports are having SFP-GE-S   transceiver which is working fine.

Ref:-https://www.cablestogo.com/product/39511/cisco-glc-sx-mmd-compatible-1000base-sx-mmf-sfp-mini-gbic-transceiver-module

As per the above doc 76-ES+XC-20G3C will support the mentioned transceiver.

Hold on ... This line card DOES NOT support GLC-SX-MM/D.  This line card can support SFP-GE-S (multi-mode).  Read THIS and look at Table 9.

Hi Leo,

As i have same chassi which is running with ES+ card and the same is supporting GLC-LH-SMD
