SG 300-28 28-Port Gigabit Managed Switch Issue

Hello All,

We have big problem in our network. Not able to resolve the issue. We are having SG 300-28 28-Port Gigabit Managed Switch connecting to number of unmanaged switches(Please find the network topology attached). Pinging is unstable. We are totally lost now. We doubt that switch does not have the capacity to handle our network. Amazingly, when we are not able to ping the switch, we are able to ping the 2 firewalls(Please check the Topology) and also log into the switch through putty. Internet is working. Kindly need your assistance to resolve the issue.

Just making a guess..

I really doubt if this is a problem with the capacity of your switch.

from the logs i could see the following.

1. check your AAA configuration. it seem to complain about the rejection of a console connection.

2. Looks like the port-fast enabled port flaps frequenctly so you could see lots of STP messages

I entered username and password wrongly in GUI, so I was getting AAA messages. Does your second point means that any bridge looping is happening? As you can see in the topology, we have connected many unmanaged switches. Is there any way to check looping in switch GUI ?

from the console messages, i see that link flaps. ie., the link goes down and comes back.

To my understanding, there is no bridge loop happening but instead some ports goes down and comes back up.

since the port directly goes to the forwarding state, I guess portfast should be enabled.
