Hi All,
so what i want to do is have 2 vlans, Data Vlan 1 & Voice Vlan 2
below is the setup I currently have but I cant get IP helper to get vlan 2 to get an IP address from the DHCP server.
Vlan 1 - 192.168.102.0/24
Vlan 2 - 192.168.103.0/24
DHCP Server, windows server 2012 R2 - 192.168.102.1 - Switch Port 1
Router Cisco 1841 - 192.168.102.99 / 192.168.103.99 - Switch Port 25
Interface fe 0/1
Ip address - 192.168.102.99
Description Vlan 1 - Data
No shutdown
Interface fe 0/1.103
encapsulation dot1q 3
Ip address - 192.168.103.99
description Vlan 2 - Voice
ip helper address 192.168.102.1
no shutdown
Cisco SG200-26P
Default Gateway 192.168.102.99
Ports 1-12 - Mode Access - Vlan 1
Ports 13 - 24 - Mode Access - Vlan 2
Port 25 - 26 - Mode Trunk - Untagged Vlan 1 - Tagged Vlan 2
Outcome,
I can ping both address on the router from the switch and dhcp server, but anything on vlan 2 will not get an IP address.
Am I missing something super simple here?
Edit *****************************
Had to make both interface virtual on the router. after that it worked a dream.
Thanks
Joe
