I have little knowledge of networking but I am trying to configure a small control system network over fibre using SG350 switches. Have managed to re-address the switches through this helpful forum and seem to be able to use StarTech GLCLHSMDST fibre SFP's modules for fibre interconnections. I am trying to use StarTech SFPC1110 RJ45 Copper SFP modules to connect to peripheral equipment however I am unable to make them work. Do I need to configure the switch to accept the RJ45 SFP module? I assumed I could just plug them in and they would work. Thanks Derek

Hello,
if you use third party SFPs, it pretty much comes down to trial and error. Some might not work. At the very least, make sure your SG350 switches are running the latest firmware version. Apart from that, the SG350 does not run a full IOS, so there is little you can configure to somehow make these SFPs compatible.
Below is the link to the Cisco Transceiver Compatibility Matrix, the SFPs listed are certified compatible.
