SG350x vs SG550x

Hi All,

Looking for a comparison between these two models of switches, in particular the SG550XG-24T vs SG350XG-24T. I would be planning on using these in a collapsed core design, running MSTP, and would like some form of first-hop redundancy. I can see the 550x supports RIPv2 and VRRP, anything else?

Thanks

General difference between SG350x and SG550x is that SG550x supports these three features while SG350X does not:

  • dynamic routing (SG350X supports only static routing for both IPv4 and IPv6)
  • policy based routing (no policy-based routing on SG350X)
  • hardware redundancy (it is meant power hardware redundancy - SG550X supports two power sources and they are capable to switch to another power source while keeping network service uninterrupted)
