Hi,
I've a strange problem, I hope someone can shed some light about it.
I have several SG500X switches, connected by fiber.
On one side of the fiber, I have a stack made of two SG500X switches.
On the other side of the fiber, I have a single SG500X switch.
All the switches have the last firmware 1.4.11.5.
Both switches have an Cisco original SFP-10G-SR SFP+ module installed.
The datasheet for the SG500X model states that this SFP+ modules is compatible.
Now the weird part. The stack switch recognizes the SFP+ module and all LED on the SFP+ port are on.
But on the standadlone switch, the SFP+ module is not recognized by the switch, and no port LEDs are on.
I have switched the SFP+ modules between the switches, same result.
The standalone switch doesn't log anything when inserting or removing the SFP+ module from the slot.
The CLI command "show fiber-ports optical-transceiver" also returns no information on the standalone switch, but plenty of stats on the stack side.
As both switches are the same series SG500X (but not the exact same model) and the same firmware level, can't understand why one switch recognizes the SFP+ module but the other switch don't.
Is there any way to debug SFP related issues?
I have been poking with several CLI commands but no luck.
Any advise will be appreciated.
Best regards,
Josep M. Torné

Hello,
what if you make the standalone switch part of the stack, and one of the stack switches the standalone ?
