Hi,
Can any one tell me what the "check=" means when viewing an access list ?
show access-list 1
permit 1.2.3.4, wildcard bits 0.0.0.1 (232 matches) check=2781
permit 1.2.3.4, wildcard bits 0.0.0.1 check=3013
I cant find anything in google about my question.
Regards
Alex

Hi Alex,
This is just a complete guess. :)
232+2781=3013
So, there was 3013 checks against the ACL. Out of that there was 232 matches and 2781 no matches.
Thanks,
Reza

Hi Reza.
I think you are right seems to be a maths thing on old IOS in an old 2950 switch.
Only seems to clock up on lines with a wild card mask configured, another access list in the same box shows your thinking to be correct. :)
permit X.Y.45.42, wildcard bits 0.0.0.1 check=7192
permit X.Y.45.44, wildcard bits 0.0.0.3 check=7192
permit X.Y.45.48, wildcard bits 0.0.0.1 (7192 matches)
PS - Hope you are well

Alex
