i want to install a PoE powered wi-fi Accesspoint.
on http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/switches/slm2008-8-port-gigabit-smart-switch-pd-ac-power/index.html i read about my SLM2008T-EU switch: "PoE functionality (802.3af) on one port".
i have no "PoE" under "Port Management" when configuring my switch.
which port then supports PoE?

Hello,
If I understand the documentation correctly, the poe port that is referenced is used to power the switch instead of using an external power supply. The SLM2008 is the PD and not the PSE.

• 802.3af PoE-PD compatible on port 1 • Supply system power without an external power adapter Hope this helps, Please rate helpful posts. Thanks. |

Thank you. I think you are right.
I was checking the specs before buying a PoE injector. First being suprised by PoE availability, now awake by you and me have investigated.
Must say it confusing for buyers reading "PoE functionality (802.3af) on one port" while this is only PD but not PSE.
