SM-ES2-24 module ios problem

Ariq Ibne Aziz

Level 1

HI I was working with the SM-ES2-24 Module and found that the ios was corrupted. I uploaded the new ios and was trying to boot it from the new ios.During change the boot system command the command was accepted but during booting, there was an error. and the Module went through rommon mode.

I had no other choice but to use xmodem. during uploading the new image using xmodem the module hanged and I had to restarted the module.

After that I m not being able to upload the new image. Even im not getting the console of the SM-Es2-24 module.

Probably the flash is corrupted. the show inventory shows the Module but CDP neighbors shows no output.

Need a solution for this problem. Can any one please advice ????

During change the boot system command the command was accepted but during booting, there was an error. and the Module went through rommon mode.

Post the entire bootup process.  I want to see the complete output in particular.

What I want to know is this:  Where did you get the IOS and, most importantly of all, did you compare the MD5 hash value (of the file you've downloaded) against the MD5 hash value found in the Cisco website?

I had another similar module and I downloaded the IOS using tftp from that module.

Here is the full story :

https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/4164810#4164810

did you compare the MD5 hash value (of the file you've downloaded) against the MD5 hash value found in the Cisco website?

Ans: No i Didnt checked the MD5 has value. I got the IOS from another module. My client bought two modules and the problemtic module had IOS problem,So he didnt take it and told me to fix it. the client is a BANK.

Let me know if you have any other query

THanks for your quick response

ARIQ

Ariq,

Same as previous post:  Post the entire bootup process.  I want to see the module boot as well as the error message(s).

Hi

Thanks for helping me...

please check the following:

I have provided you booting process, show version, show inventory,ip int br. The serial numbers output is omitted.

Please let me know if the problem can be fixed.

Best Regards

Ariq

I forgot to tell you that, I uploaded the SM image to router. It was not there, I uploaded it in the flash:

Ahhhh ... Ok.  I see the file.  I need to talk to you about the version of IOS you are using.  But that's later.

The final problem is that Im not being able to connect with the module.

Have you looked at this document before:  http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/access/interfaces/software/feature/guide/eesm_sw.html#wp1920381

I tried using the password break command but not being able to reach the sw console.

here is the output :

Router#service-module g1/0 password-reset

Do you want to proceed with password reset process?[confirm]

Starting password reset process...

Wait for 50 secs for password reset process to complete

Router#

[Resuming connection 1 to 192.168.10.1 ... ]

Is there any other way ?

Ok, thanks for the output.
