Hi,

I'm just looking to understand my options for 'stacking/LAGGING' when I don't have the copper stack cables; I have three switches to be linked in a loop architecture, but am finding it difficult to find resource around options on the physical setup (i.e. use GbE ports rather than 'Sx' ports) and the process of linking.

Anything you can share would be great please, or insights.

Regards,

SW

For stacking you need to use below standard document :

https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/csbms/Sx500/quick_start/en/500_Series_QSG_En.pdf

If you do not have those cables another Option is Trunking the ports using a port-channel or single port.

when you do that STP will block one of the paths that is normal, but you can manipulate with root bridges and priorities use RING.

Note: this may not give 100% stack function.
