SNMP ENGINE causing high CPU

Hi

The average CPU utilization is 60% and at times hits 95% on Cisco 7206VXR (NPE-G1) with System image file is "disk2:c7200-adventerprisek9-mz.124-24.T5.bin":

When i checked the router SNMP ENGINE is causing the high utilization (60%).

When i stopped the monitoring from solar wind then the CUP is back to 6%.

i am not facing this issue on another similar router but that's running System image file is "disk2:c7200-advipservicesk9-mz.152-4.M5.bin"

Is this a bug or very old version of code causing the issue.

regards

Logesh

I believe I am having this issue as well on my 6509. Did you get this resolved?

one server was performing avtomatic daily snmp-walk on our 6509 also causing high cpu usage. Solution was toconfigure snmp-view excluding all unnecesary MIBs.

I think I used this blog as a reference when configuring snmp-view:

Steven,

Please send me the following :

show proc cpu sort | inc CPU|PID|SNMP ENG

show stacks <SNMP ENG>

looking forward to your reply,

Hi

Didn't has time to troubleshoot the SNMP :( so, i end up upgrading the IOS of this router (c7200-adventerprisek9-mz.124-24.T5.bin) similar to the other router (c7200-advipservicesk9-mz.152-4.M5.bin) and the problem disappeared.
