Hello all!
I am currious if I can connect my SPAN port to another port on my switch that is accessing a dry VLAN, I know I will have to enable BPDUFILTER to keep it from having a loopback error, but if I do this 1) will it work 2) can I then trunk that VLAN to a remote switch and access it from there. I don't think it would cause any problems but I'm not sure.
Thanks!
Mike

Yes. You can use a Remote SPAN vlan to access the session from another switch.
Edit: Updated the incorrect link.

Right, But I only want to monitor one port on my core switch. RSPAN is for monitoring the VLAN, right?

The RSPAN only monitors traffic that you place into the vlan. So, only source one port from your core switch and that's all the traffic you'll see in the RSPAN vlan.
