I am using PVST now and planning to migrate to RSTP. Which is good in performance and why? I have configured 20 VLAN's in my switch.

Are you referring RSTP with MST or RPVST+ (A.K.A PVST+) ?

RSTP or RPVST+ is definitely a good buy over PVST anytime. It has various STP optimisations inbulit and significantly reduces the convergence times.
