SRST phone are not being register.

Hi Guys,

I am trying to get my SRST remote site to work when the WAN failed. I was testing it tonight and it is not working.

I pretty much followed this procedure : https://supportforums.cisco.com/document/98721/how-implement-cisco-unified-srst-and-mgcp-fallback + another procedure user guide from the CISCO website.

I have used a line FXO which I have put at the back of the CISCO 2921 that we are using.

The phone stayed in registered mode. I can see on the phone that the first CM is my CUCM at the main office and the second CM is my SRTS device .

My config  looks like this:

In my CUCM I have configure the 6.15.1.2  as the IP with the right ports. I am testing over a VPN.

The device pool have the configuration SRST activated.

It feels the phone is not even trying to communicate with the SRST. It keeps registering in a cercle.

Please help.

Hi,

You srst config is using " ip source-address 6.14.1.2 port 2000" but you have configured 6.15.1.2  in your call manager and your Gi0/1 is also 6.15.1.2. Can you check if this is correct.

Thanks

John

Hi Jon,

I confirm I have used ip source-addres 6.15.1.2 port 2000. (Typo error from my end)

I confirm I have set the IP addresss of the gi 0/1 6.15.1.2

My SRST in my CUCM is configured with port 2000 IP 6.15.1.2

I have opened all ports toward the CUCM so port 2000 is open.

I have looked at one my phone this morning in HTTP. Even tough yesterday I was seeing the Unified CM3 as my CUCM and Unified CM4 as my SRST within the telephone settings, this morning I am not seing it within the WEB app.

the CUCM is configured with the SRST reference within SYSTEM named gira_gw.mydomain.com

The IP address is correct as confirmed above.

We had configured a device pool named "Gira" with a SRST Reference with the name of the SRST reference.

The DNS resolve correctly gira_gw.mydomain.com.

I have seen within the phone settings on HTTP that no domain name was entered. Could it be it? Perhaps we need to add a DHCP option in order for the phone to know the right Domain name?

Your toughts would be much appreciated.

Many Thanks

Elizabeth
